RIGblasters do not have built in sound as over 95% of the ham radio programs cannot select or directly access a Windows external audio device. This means that if you wish to use an external audio device you must disable the default Windows audio system in order to use the external device. This is the only way to make most ham radio programs work. To our knowledge there are only three amateur radio programs out of over 100 that let you select the Windows audio device directly from the program.

This would be the case with our external USB sound device also; same problem. The reasons that you might want our external USB sound device is that some laptop computers have no audio input jack, mic or line, only have a built in microphone. This USB audio adaptor provides an easy solution.

The second reason that you might wish to use this product is that in order to do real time processing such as microphone equalization or digital audio over HF SSB bandwidth you will need a full duplex sound card. Most computers have this but if yours does not our USB audio device is full duplex. This simply means that the input signal is processed separately at the same time that the output signal is being processed.
