ClearSpeech® Adaptive Digital Signal Processing

Adaptive digital filters are self learning filters. They listen to the incoming signal, go through a short "training" period, then adapt their operation based on the signal's noise content. During the training period the filter will pass the complete noisy signal. As each noise component is identified, the filter goes through a subtractive process to minimize the power of each component. What remains is the desired signal with only a small amount of noise.

The adaptive filter learns and subtracts noises

The proprietary West Mountain Radio ClearSpeech® Adaptive Noise Filtering Algorithm processes the incoming signal to identify constant and random noise components. By taking multiple samples, removing the random components and subtracting the constant components, the filtering algorithm leaves the speech or CW products. The result is the ability to detect signals that would normally be below the noise level.

West Mountain Radio offers powerful noise reduction products that include the adaptive filtering algorithm. Speaker and processor versions are available for your home or mobile station.
